Venturi Effect
Definition
Fluid speeds up through a narrow spot and its pressure drops — the trick behind carburetors and perfume sprayers.
Technical definition
Continuity (A₁v₁ = A₂v₂) plus Bernoulli: a constriction raises velocity, lowering pressure. The basis of venturi flow meters.
Example
A perfume atomizer: squeezed air rushes past the tube's top, the pressure drop sucks perfume up into the jet.
Common confusion
The Venturi effect isn't a separate law from Bernoulli — it's Bernoulli plus continuity. Narrower means faster means lower pressure: one chain, not three phenomena.
