Waves Memory Match

Flip the cards and match each wave term with its definition — from wavelength to standing waves.

How to play

  1. Click a card to flip it over.

  2. Flip a second card to try for a match.

  3. Matched pairs stay face-up; mismatches flip back.

  4. Match all 8 pairs to win. Fewer moves means a better score.

Scoring

Win by matching all 8 pairs. Your move count is your score — under 14 moves is excellent, under 18 is good.

What physics did you just use?

You just locked in the wave vocabulary that every wave equation is built from. Frequency and period are reciprocals, wavelength and frequency are linked by v = fλ, and resonance explains everything from shattering glasses to tuned radios.

Key concepts

  • Wave speed v = fλ
  • Frequency and period
