Ideal Gas Law Calculator
The ideal gas law PV = nRT connects pressure, volume, amount, and temperature of a gas. Temperature must be in kelvin (absolute scale) — this calculator accepts kelvin only, so the math stays correct. Enter any three values to solve for the fourth.

How to interpret the result
Pressure, volume, and temperature are locked together: squeeze a gas (smaller V) and either the pressure rises or the temperature does. Heating a sealed rigid container raises the pressure in direct proportion to the absolute (kelvin) temperature — never use Celsius here, since 0 °C is not zero energy.
Assumptions
- Ideal gas: particles are point masses with no attraction between them
- Gas is in thermal equilibrium at temperature T
- R = 8.314 J/(mol·K)
